Stewart McDowell is a leading advisor to companies in the Bay Area and around the country on their significant corporate transactions and corporate governance matters. She is a partner in the San Francisco office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher and is Co-Chair of the firm's Capital Markets Practice. Stewart represents prominent companies in capital markets transactions, mergers and acquisitions, SEC reporting, corporate governance and general corporate matters. She has significant experience representing both issuers and underwriters in a broad range of both equity and debt securities offerings.

Also, Stewart McDowell represents both buyers and sellers in connection with U.S. and cross-border mergers, acquisitions and strategic investments. Stewart does pro bono legal work for a variety of organizations, including advising San Francisco Child Abuse Prevention Center on their joint venture project involving SFCAPC’s Child Advocacy Center, the Center for Youth Wellness and CPMC’s Bayview Childrens’ Health Clinic. She is a member of the board of trustees of Alta Vista School and a co-chair of the Allegro Circle of the San Francisco Ballet.
