Smeeta is an executive with over twenty years of experience counseling public and private companies, board members, and investors. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board of 99 Rises, a fintech democratizing wealth management.

Smeeta has served as Chief Legal Officer and Head of Communications at Cardless, Inc. and as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel – Head of Global Regulatory and Policy at Robinhood Markets Inc. Prior to that, she served at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in positions of authority including as Chief of Staff to Commissioner Aguilar and Deputy Director of the Office of Credit Ratings Agencies. She also spent time in private practice as well as clerked for the Honorable Deborah Chasanow of the United States District Court of the District of Maryland.

Smeeta is a graduate of the Coro Fellowship of Public Affairs, Stanford University, and Stanford Law School. She also served as President of the Asian Pacific Bar Association of the Greater Washington D.C. Area and was named a National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Best Under 40 Award recipient. She is also the current Co-President of the Stanford Cap and Gown Alumni Association as well as a Board member of Stanford-in-Washington, Stanford University’s DC Program.
