Julie Kikla

Executive Director, Ladies Who Launch

Julie’s career has spanned across private equity, digital sports, VR, yoga, cannabis and women entrepreneurship with the key theme of being at the front line of high growth companies with mission driven brands. She recently took on the appointment of Executive Director at Ladies who Launch, a non-profit based in San Francisco founded by Sarah Friar and Kelly McGonigle to provide women an unfair advantage when launching and growing their own companies. She started her career in private equity consulting, moving then to Google as a key figure on the YouTube Business Development team structuring high impact strategic partnerships such as NBC Olympics, Wimbledon, UEFA and multiple original programming agreements. She served as EVP of Content Partnerships and Digital Strategy at Whistle Sports where she played a prominent role in the creation of the network, growing the team from 6 people to 70, raising a series B and accelerating the growth of the business across league partners, teams, athletes and sports influencers. Following her love of digital content, she moved to GoPro to lead the company's business Entertainment initiative building the GoPro creator network and VR content partnerships. During that time, her love of community and yoga and a special Lululemon ambassador trip to Hawaii inspired her to build her own company called The Kula Project, a yoga, pilates, spa, juice bar and paddleboard house celebrating aloha vibes, good people and daily asana in Mystic, CT. With Kula up and running, Julie went back to the Bay to join PAX Labs as head of Strategic Partnerships driven by their mission to establish cannabis as a force for good. Her experience launching her own company and support of Ladies Who Launch ultimately brought her to where she is now, supporting and inspiring women to have the resources, community and capital they need to launch their own business. Julie hails from Philadelphia, earned a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Commerce from the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in San Francisco, California where you can find her paddleboarding in Sausalito, doing yoga at Love Story, surfing in Bolinas, skiing in Tahoe or running a women’s poker network for up and coming entrepreneurs.
