Smita Rajmohan

Senior Counsel, Head of AI/ML, Autodesk, Inc

Smita was born and raised in New Delhi, India and now lives in San Francisco, California where she works as Senior Counsel for the worldwide Artificial Intelligence Platform team at Autodesk, Inc. She is the only woman of color (and the only lawyer) to serve on Autodesk's Generative AI Governance Committee, the arbiter of all decisions with respect to the use of generative AI technologies at Autodesk.

In this role, Smita is responsible for establishing scalable AI governance and ethical practices that are implemented across Autodesk's business. Smita counsels C-suite and senior leadership on data licensing, privacy, intellectual property, transactional and other aspects of the company’s artificial intelligence, data and identity products.

Smita previously worked as Product Counsel and lead lawyer for iPad and hardware machine learning at Apple in Cupertino, USA. Smita is part of the IEEE AI Policy Committee and submits position statements on AI before Congress. She also serves on the Technology and Scholars Advisors Committee for CITED, California Initiative for Technology and Democracy which seeks state level solutions to tackle the dangers of AI and the spread of election disinformation.
