Kristin Gleitsman

VP of Discovery Research, Veracyte

Kristin Gleitsman has spent nearly a decade leading and building teams in the biotech sector. She is currently the VP of Discovery Research at Veracyte, a leading global diagnostics company. Prior to that, Kristin spent almost six years growing a technology development team at Guardant Health that spanned assay development, engineering, product development, reagent development, and post-launch sustaining and support in Guardant’s Oncology division. Before Guardant, she led an R&D team at Pacific Biosciences focused on improving the library preparation process to advance the capabilities of their long-read sequencing technology.

Gleitsman’s academic training at Caltech and Stanford focused on biophysical chemistry, specifically developing a chemical-scale understanding of the structure and function of biological macromolecules. She loves traveling nearly as much as she loves science and has occasionally been able to weave the two together, first as a Gates Scholar in Cambridge, England, then as a Fulbright Scholar in St Petersburg, Russia, and finally as an NSF EAPSI scholar in Okazaki, Japan. She lives in Menlo Park, CA with her husband and two children.
