Chief Content Officer, Newsela
Jennifer is a media professional with extensive experience in newsrooms and digital publications. Since 2013, she has served as Chief Content Officer of Newsela, an instructional content platform and one of the fastest-growing startups in K-12 education technology. She previously worked under the tightest deadlines in the news business as a reporter for Bloomberg and Reuters specializing in finance and economic coverage. As a freelancer she reported on airline and hotel industry news for Travel + Leisure magazine. She later worked as a content marketing consultant for a number of finance industry companies including Fidelity, Mint, American Express and Citibank. As a volunteer for the India Literacy Project, she helped establish a lending-library for area elementary schools in Hyderabad.
Jennifer has a master's degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and a bachelor's degree in comparative literature from Wellesley College. She lives in the heart of Silicon Valley with her husband and two children.
