Denise Shiffman is a growth-focused, technology industry executive with the unique ability to
transform business and inspire employees, peers, partners, and customers. For over 25 years, Denise has defined business strategy, initiated new products, transformed legacy products and locked in strong partnerships to drive revenue growth and profitability for startups as well as leading Fortune 500 technology companies. With deep customer focus and expertise in enterprise software and infrastructure, Denise identifies customer and market insights to create breakout strategies, and make bold moves that lead to market leadership. In any environment, Denise is well known for her ability to build strong, diverse teams and execute at speed.
Denise previously led product management, strategy and technical alliance partnerships for
Juniper Networks’ $4B portfolio of cybersecurity, cloud services, switching and routing product lines. During her six-year tenure at Juniper, Denise initiated the company’s first cloud services,
redefined the vision and strategy for the network security portfolio, redesigned the company’s
security and network management applications, and led the transformation of the company’s data center switching products and go-to-market to drive growth for that product line from $50M to $500M over 4 years.
Prior to joining Juniper, Denise was CEO of Swarm Networks, a distributed storage software
startup. In addition, she was Vice President for the $3B storage division of Sun Microsystems
where she led product management and marketing. In her 10 years at Sun, Denise also held key
management roles in the desktop division, server division, and Sun Labs. She managed both
engineering and product management teams and she initiated Sun’s first workgroup server
product line, which went on to become a $4B portfolio.
Denise is actively involved in women’s mentoring organizations to advance diversity and inclusion, and she advises early-stage startup founders through Plug and Play Tech Center, and independently.
Denise holds a Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University and a Masters in Business
Administration from Pepperdine University Graziadio School of Business and Management and
is the award-winning author of The Age of Engage: Reinventing Marketing for Today’s
Connected, Collaborative and Hyperinteractive Culture, which received accolades from
industry-leading executives including Google’s Eric Schmidt.
Denise enjoys being outside hiking and exploring. She supports her son’s avid interest in
creating fish tanks and ponds and provides a home to koi, tropical fish and even freshwater river monsters, along with Samson, a mixed breed canine that likes to sleep on her pillow. She
believes every good meal deserves an amazing glass of red wine, and loves reading about new
technology and the changing world around us.
