Associate Principal, Auerbach Glasgow French
E. Sara McBarnette has over 20 years of experience as an architectural lighting design consultant. She is an Associate Principal at the design firm of Auerbach Glasow French in San Francisco where she has designed and managed award winning projects. Sara is accredited by the US Green Building Council as a LEED Professional in green building design and construction.
Sara began her career in New York City at the firm of Fisher Marantz Renfro Stone. Hired while still a graduate student, her skills were quickly recognized and she was appointed technical designer for the lighting in the renovation of Grand Central Terminal, NYC. She went on to work on a wide range of projects located in the USA and abroad such as corporate spaces, museums, private residences, and city street light plans, et al.
Sara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Product Design Engineering from Stanford University and a Master of Fine Arts in Architectural Lighting from the Parsons School of Design. A former
board member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, she founded their student scholarship program.
